What is the difference between coaching and instructing?

The relationship between a coach and a coach is based on the fact that the coach is there to help the coach analyze his problems. The main difference between coaching and teaching is that coaching is a cyclical and multidimensional activity that aims to highlight a particular aspect of the subject being trained, where teaching is rather a linear, step-by-step approach, composed mainly of unidirectional communication, with the objective of presenting new information that has never been learned before. Coaching is based on the coach's ability to guide the coach through a process of self-discovery and generate commitment to a practical result, listening to everything that is said and not said and asking thought-provoking questions. Here's a very simple example of how instruction, mentoring and coaching can be applied to a person who has difficulty managing their time.

Instruction, mentoring and coaching are three important skills that every leader should possess, since there will be times when they will be asked to give instructions, advise, or train someone.
